Computational Protein Design

An introduction to protein design by Franziska Seeger, Research Scientist at Amazon and former post-doc in David Baker’s Institute for Protein Design at UW.

Franziska Seeger, PhD

Speaker Bio
Franziska Seeger is a protein biophysicist who is passionate about applying data science to pressing problems in biomedicine. During her PhD, Franziska elucidated the activation mechanism of an important drug target for cardiovascular diseases. Her fascination for proteins and protein-protein interactions then took her to pursue a postdoc with David Baker at the Institute for Protein Design, where she engineered novel inhibitors against autoimmune disease targets. Franziska most recently has taken her applied problem solving skills to Amazon (Seattle) where she currently works as a research scientist.
