Have you ever wondered about the scientific research and societal consequences surrounding legal, recreational marijuana use for our community?
If so, please join AWIS and ACS for this forward-thinking scientific panel discussion, where we will be exploring topics such as regulating impaired driving, ensuring quality control of marijuana and cannabis-based products, understanding and treating marijuana dependency, and neurochemical and neurobiological issues surrounding marijuana use. Our distinguished panelists are:
Our panelists will discuss their specific programs and research, the way that their science intersects with law and policy, explain the current challenges in working in the field, and answer YOUR specific questions! This panel will be a guided discussion, but we are soliciting questions from YOU prior to the panel. If you have a question you would like to ask, email email@example.com
*All AWIS meetings are FREE and open to both members and non-members, both men and women! However, pre-registration is REQUIRED for this event to reserve a seat. You can register here:

UPCOMING AWIS PROGRAMS– SAVE THE DATE
In response to the enthusiasm on our programming survey last month, we will be hosting our first quarterly weekend event, Personal Rebranding for Leadership Roles, on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 10AM at FHCRC in the Sze Conference room. (This is near the Pelton Auditorium, our regular meeting space, but closer to the security desk at the front of the Thomas Building where we enter). As many of us approach the job market anew, it is important to intentionally create a professional identity. We’ll listen to a short lecture and then provide time for discussion and questions.
Our Seattle AWIS Programs are regularly held on the third Wednesday of the month from September through June.
